Central Expands Professional Development Opportunities
The Central Instruction and Professional Development Committee is expanding the scope of its in-service offerings to Central members. In addition to the traditional Central Day array of in-service activities, workshops and training sessions will be offered throughout the year. Moreover, IPD intends to make the offerings available in all the areas of Central OEA/NEA.
To implement this new initiative, the Central Finance Committee and Central IPD have created two opportunities for local associations to partner in the program expansion. First, IPD will need sites for workshops and training sessions. Consequently, IPD is officially requesting proposals to host in-service. More information about this opportunity can be found in a companion article located on the Home Page
The second way, in which a local association can partner with Central IPD, is to become a presenter of a workshop or workshops.
This could be a specific workshop for which the IPD is expressly seeking a presenter or it could be a workshop that is conceived of and developed by your local association members for your members. Either workshop scenario must be open to any Central member who wishes to participate. If your association is interested in becoming a workshop presenter, please complete the online presenter application using the link provided below.
Both of these opportunities will provide a monetary award for your association’s services. Details on the monetary awards are available in the Documents Library under the listing "Instruction and Professional Development."
Working together we can develop, expand and enhance the professional and leadership development opportunities for all Central members. We invite your participation.
